SORT the STUFF you STORE

Stuff, what stuff?

The important stuff you might just need that’s taking up all that room in your closed cupboards no one really sees anyway….

That’s OK but if you are selling your home, I need to let you in on a little secret…. The people that come to inspect your home will open these cupboards, pantry doors and wardrobes to see if their STUFF will fit.

If it’s full of your STUFF, it makes it hard for them to imagine how they will make it work for them.

If you follow these simple steps you will increase the value of your home.

Quite simply, the more people that want to buy your home the more competition you will have and the more pressure this will put on the buyers to be the one to walk away with the keys to their new home

You need to impress them in every way.  This is like the icing on the cake.  They come to inspect because they like what they see on the internet (the images). They drive down the street, walk up the drive and get a general first impression. They walk through the home and get a feel for the floorplan, and visualise the lifestyle the home offers. They will open doors to check out where they will store

It’s also quite liberating to go through this process and complete each stage.  It may even be your new way forward…

Let’s start with some easy tips to STAGE these areas:

Wardrobe

  • Reduce clothes, shoes and accessories by removing, storing or donating

  • Sort your clothes into colours (this helps with visual appeal)

  • Clear the floor space (will make the space look and feel larger, trust me

  • Use baskets as a way to organise loose items

  • Have all hangers the same colour and facing the same way

  • White shirts work well

Pantry

  • Turn your pantry into an impressive space others would want to use

  • Remove out of date and expired items

  • Sort food into categories to help with visual appeal

  • Only have what you need (you can store excess canned food for now)

    Linen

  • Now is the time to remove excess linen to show off the amount of extra space

  • Sort colours to help with visual appeal

  • Spray Linen with crisp fragrance to help connect with all senses

  • Leave bottom and top spaces clear

  • Use baskets to organise any loose items

If this all seems a little over the top, Good.. You want your house to stand out for all these reasons.  You only have 1 chance to make an impression. Why wouldn’t you do everything to make it a good one?

You do know, if you need more help around getting this right and liberating yourself in the process….
